In India, Chinese fishing nets (cheena vala) are fishing nets that are fixed land installations for fishing. Each installation is operated by a team of upto 6 fishermen. While such nets are used throughout coastal Southern China and Indochina,in India they are mostly found in the Indian cities of Kochi and Kollam, where they become a tourist attraction.
It is earlier thought that the nets might have been introduced by the Chinese explorer Zheng He.Recent research showns that these were introduced by Potuguese Casado settlers from Macau. The Chinese fishing nets have become a very popular tourist attraction, their size and elegant construction is photogenic and the slow rhythm of their operation is quite hypnotic.

The Aanayoottu (feeding of elephants) is a festival held in the precincts of the Vadakkunathan temple in city of Thrissur,in Kerala. The festival falls on the first day of the month of karkkidakam(timed against the malayalam calendar),which cocides with the month of july.
The special feed of the elephants includes sugar-cane leaves, coconut, jaggery and the sweet mix of Ganapathy pooja prasadam. The elephants are hailed as sacred animals (a fact which explains the presence of elephants in the South Indian temples).
Elephants are an integral part of Kerala culture, and elephants are integral to all festivals, including the Aanayootttu. Many of the famous South Indian temples have a number of their own elephants;feeding these elephants are considered as auspicious.

Butterflies are part of the class of insects in the other Lepidoptera, along with the moths.Adult butterflies have large, often brightly coloured wings, and conspicuous, fluttering flight. The group comprises the large superfamily papilionoidea, along with 2 smaller groups, the skippers and the moth-butterflies.Butterfly fossils date to the palaeocene, about 56 million years ago.
Butterflies have the typical 4 stage insect life cycle.Winged adults lay eggs on the food plant on which their larvae, known as caterpillars, will feed. The catterpillars grow, sometimes very rapidly, and when fully developed pupate in a chrysalis.culturally , butterflies are a popular motif in the visual and literary arts.

The Cheetah is a big cat in the subfamily Felinae that inhabits most of Africa and parts of Iran.It is the only extant member of the genus Acinonyx. The cheetah can run as fast as 109.4 to 120.7 km/h(68.0 to 75.0 mph),faster than any other land animal. It covers distances up to 500 m(1,640 ft) in short bursts, and can acclerate from 0 to 96 km/h(0 to 60 mphs) in three seconds.
The Cheetah's closest extant relatives are the Puma and Jaguarundi of the Americas.Cheetahs are notable for adaptations in the paws as they are one of the few felids with only semi-retractable claws.
Their main hunting strategy i to trip swift prey such as various antelope species and hares with its dewclaw.Almost every facet of the Cheetah's anatomy has evolved to maximise its success in the chase, the result o an evolutionary arms race with its prey.
Due to this specialisation, however, the cheetah is poorly equipped to defend itself against other large predators , with speed being its main of defence. In the wild , the cheetah is a prolific breeder, with up to nine cubs in a litter.

Gray langurs or Hanuman langurs, the most widespread langurs of South Asia, are a group of Old World Monkeys constituting the entirely of the genus Semnopithecus. All taxa have traditionally been placed in the single species Semnopithecus entellus.
In 2001, it was recommended that several distinctive former subspecies should given species status, so that seven species are recognised.A taxonomic classification with fewer species has also been proposed.Genetic evidence suggests that the Nilgiri langur and purple-faced langur, which usually are placed in the genus Trachypithecus, actually belong in Semnopithecus.
Gray langurs are large and fairly terrestrial, inhabiting forest, open lightly wooded habitats, and urban areas on the Indian subcontinent. Most species are found at low to moderate altitudes, but the Nepal grey langur and Kashmir gray langur occur up to 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) in the Himalayas.
