The statue of Lord Bahubali, also known as Gommateshwara, is a magnificent monolithic statue located in Shravanabelagola, Karnataka. Standing at 57 feet tall, it is one of the largest free-standing statues in the world. Carved from a single block of granite around 981 AD, it depicts Bahubali in a meditative posture, symbolizing peace, non-violence, and renunciation. The statue is an important pilgrimage site for Jains and is the focal point of the Mahamastakabhisheka festival held every 12 years.
