Built by the Portuguese about A.D. 1503, Conserved as a Historic Relic by the Government of Travancore A.D. 1909.”This plaque marks the historical Cranganore Fort (Kodungallur Fort) in Kerala. The fort was originally built by the Portuguese around 1503 AD during their early presence in India.

Later, in 1909, the Government of Travancore preserved it as a historical monument. The weathered stone and aged wall show the fort’s long history and heritage importance. It represents Kerala’s colonial past and the influence of European traders in the region.
