The picture above shows the Airavatesvara Temple at Darasuram, near Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu, India. This temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and part of the "Great Living Chola Temples." Built in the 12th century by Rajaraja Chola II, it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is renowned for its intricate stone carvings, detailed sculptures, and unique architecture, including the beautifully carved stone chariot supported by figures of horses and elephants. It is a fine example of the artistic and architectural excellence of the Chola dynasty.
