The Chettinad Palace is a magnificent ancestral mansion built by the wealthy Chettiar community, known for their trading and banking success in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It showcases Chettinad architecture, which combines Indian, European, and East Asian styles — featuring wide courtyards, intricate wood carvings, Belgian glass, Italian marble, and Burmese teak. The palace serves as a symbol of the prosperity and cultural richness of the Chettinad region. And it located at Kanadukathan village, near Karaikudi, Sivaganga District Tamil Nadu, India.

This is the Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace and Gardens located in Srirangapatna, near Mysuru (Mysore), Karnataka, India. The building visible in the background is Daria Daulat Bagh, which means “Garden of the Wealth of the Sea.” It was the summer palace of Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore in the late 18th century. The palace is a beautiful teakwood structure built in 1784, featuring Islamic-style architecture with arches, pillars, and balconies.

The gardens surrounding it are well-maintained, with symmetrical flowerbeds, gravel pathways, and trimmed hedges typical of Mughal-style landscaping. Inside the palace (not visible in this photo) are murals, paintings, and historical displays depicting Tipu Sultan’s reign and battles. These picture shows a large black stone sculpture of Nandi, the sacred bull and divine vehicle (vahana) of Lord Shiva in Hindu mythology. This type of Nandi statue is commonly found at the entrance of Shiva temples in South India, where devotees pay respects before entering the temple’s sanctum. The bull’s posture—calm and seated—represents patience, strength, and faithfulness.
